Continued from the seedbox.me Quick Start Guide
Getting the files
Once the files have downloaded the status will change from Leeching to Seeding and will continue to seed even when you're not logged in.
Here are the steps required to download the completed files from the seedbox to your PC.
FTP
This is the best method for getting files to and from your seedbox.
FTP downloads can resume if the connection is lost unlike HTTP downloads so if you're trying to transfer a large file this is the best method.
OK, a quick FTP guide for windows users.
Winscp, the FTP client.
http://winscp.net/eng/download.php
Download and run the exe.
(Please note: Other clients are available. Please Google "FTP client" for more information.)
Click "Session" in the left window pane.
Host name = seedbox IP (check your welcome email)
username = seedbox username (notice, all lowercase)
password = your seedbox Pa55worD (mixed case if set as such)
Protocol = FTP (drop down menu)
Now click "Login"
Hopefully it will connect to your personal drive on the seedbox.
You will see your seedbox drive and its contents in the right window of Winscp.
The left window lets you browse to your files on the PC.
You then just drag the folder or files from the RIGHT pane to the LEFT pane to transfer the folder and files from your seedbox to your PC.
To upload a folder and files TO the seedbox simply drag the folder from the left window (PC) to the right window. (seedbox)
Note: If you plan to seed uploaded files, say a single avi file, then don't place this in your root folder. Make a new folder first then upload the avi in this folder.
More about why this is necessary is detailed in our Torrent Maker guide
Thats pretty much it.
If you get stuck please contact support and we'll help you the best we can.
Update: To get the best out of the seedbox.me ftp service you need to set your client to allow 5 simultaneous transfers before connecting. Once your client is set up correctly you then copy the files (not the folder) from the seedbox to a new folder on your PC.
More information: Setting simultaneous transfers in winscp
HTTP
Not the best way of downloading as resuming broken transfers isn't a feature of HTTP downloads unlike FTP, however, for small files like mp3's this method is usually OK.
| 1. | Look for on your seedbox and Click it |
| 2. | You should see a list of folders. Look for and Click it |
| 3. | You'll be asked where to save the zip file. Once saved to your PC simply extract the files and voila, you've done it! |
